In most civilized nations of the world, the currency of Hyrkania is the barter tool of choice. Almost every person will accept these coins as trade. Only the very fringe borders of the civilized lands, or stubborn traders, will refuse the coins as payment.
The average commoner is not as rich as most adventurers. The average farm worker might recieve 10 silver pieces as a whole week’s wage, for example.

Commonly abbreviated to cp, Copper is the “base” currency (lowest denomination). A coin for beggars and slaves, copper is used for the most trivial purchases, such as tools, commoner’s meals, mundane clothes, and some building materials.
Commonly abbreviated to sp, one Silver piece is worth 100 Copper pieces. Silver tends to be the most commonly used coinage, as it is the general commoner’s wallet most.
Commonly abbreviated to gp, one Gold piece is worth 1000 Copper pieces, or 100 Silver pieces. Gold is generally the adventurer’s and noble’s coin of choice.
Commonly abbreviated to pp, one Platinum piece is worth 10000 Copper pieces, or 1000 Silver pieces, or 100 Gold pieces. Platinum is fairly rare, and is generally only used for large transactions where gold or silver would be much too heavy.
